Brother Robert Tyree was introduced, recommended, and nominated by Brother Ken Patterson for membership in our lodge. The Brothers in attendance voted unanimously to accept the nomination and Brother Tyree graciously accepted.
The Grand Lodge meeting is rescheduled for Saturday, June 25th at the Mongolian Grill and will start around 10 AM and should not exceed 3 PM. Supreme Lodge Council Member Don Stamm will be in attendance.
The Supreme Lodge Convention is going to be in Charleston, South Carolina, from July 31st through August 3rd. Brother Leslie Johnson is not going to be able to attend so as of this meeting our Grand Lodge will not have a representative at this Conference.
This year’s UNA Sportsman’s Dinner and Silent Auction will feature Basketball Legend Bill Walton. Attending this year’s event is again $125 per person. Out lodge will not host a table at this event due to a lack of interest by the membership.
Brother Robert Steen presented a $150 check to Ann Howard on behalf of our lodge in honor of the late Brother Dan Howard. The check is to be used for the care of UNA’s Leo the lion. Robert reported that Ann was very gracious and thankful for the check. He also reported that in light of her circumstances she appeared to be doing well.
Brother Robert Steen also reported on the Memorial Service to be held at Veterans Park on May 30th at 11 AM. Brother Dan Richardson said he would ask that all Lodge Brothers attend to represent our lodge if possible. Brother Steen is the Master of Ceremonies, Brother General Jim Noles is an honored guest and speaker, Brother Colonel Ed Yeilding is an honored guest, and Brothers Randy and Tommy Chapin are responsible for maintaining the Veterans Park Memorial Gardens where the event will take place.
The next lodge meeting will be on Monday, May 23.
