During the meeting, the following items were discussed:

1. Brother Rob welcomed our guest David Black to the meeting, and Brother Marvin and Brother Hermon introduced him to the group.  Brother Marvin said David was taking his officer position in the North Alabama Lions Athletic Club and had been a professor at UNA before retiring.  They shared with the group that David had also been a Colbert County county commissioner. The group welcomed David to the meeting, and David expressed that he wished to become a lodge member. 

2. Brother Rob asked for reports of any old or new business.  Brother Leslie updated the membership on his proposed diversionary youth program that he hoped to partner with through our lodge and the National Judge Association.  He said he was now working with the America Institute of Justice and the other partners, including UNA and NWSCC, to develop a working plan to proceed.  Brother Leslie said at this time, he didn’t need any help in pursuing these partnerships but that once a proposal comes out, he will need a lot of assistance from the Brothers to make the program a reality in the Shoals area. 

3. Brother Jim said that on the Jeopardy game show last week, a question was asked about the Knights of Pythias.  He said he thought it was a bonus question, but he missed the actual question and the answer was the KOP. 

4. The next Lodge meeting will be held on Monday, September 12th,  2022, at the usual meeting place, starting with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and followed by the KOP business meeting at noon.
