Meeting Notes

Return to Monte Bello Meetings
Good Morning Good Brothers,
I hope everyone is doing well and you have weathered the rain. We had eleven brothers in attendance at Monday's meeting. For those who did not attend, we missed you. During the session, we recapped the accomplishments of the lodge in 2019, including the successful ceremony on Veterans Day at Veterans Park. Turns out we had two astronauts at the program including a 4 Star General "Chilli" Chilton who were guests of Brother Ed Yeilding. We also discussed what the current year goals will include. Brothers Randy and Tommy Chapin are working to obtain an army tank for display at the park. Brother Robert Steen is on a committee for the UNA official anniversary which has been declared January 11th and will be celebrated every year henceforth.
We unanimously voted to make Brother Ed Cheney our Veteran of the Year for the third year in a row for his service to our country and for his excellent speaking tour during this year's Veterans Day. Once again, the group congratulated and thanked Brothers Robert Steen, Tommy Chapin and Randy Chapin for their hard work in not only making our Veterans Day Ceremony such a success but also for the great work they have accomplished at the Veterans Park. Their efforts have made a real impact on our community when it comes to honoring our Servicemen and Women both from the past and currently.
We also discussed the meeting in Prattville, and the group decided that I should contact Andrew Moulton to determine a couple of dates that would definitely work for him. Since that meeting I contacted Andrew and we have decided that
Tuesday, February 4th, would be a good meeting date. Tentatively the meeting will occur at Jim and Nicks in Prattville around lunchtime. If possible, please plan on attending this meeting. In addition to our Lodge brothers being in attendance Brother William Frey from Prattville along with Andrew, will be in attendance, as will be either Supreme Vice-Chancellor Bruce Brown or Supreme Inner Guard Don Stamm. It should be a good meeting and hopefully, we can assist Brother William in getting the Prattville Lodge active again.
Brother Hermon Graham reminded everyone that the Grand Lodge meeting will occur on Saturday, June 20th here in Florence. Brother Marvin Whisenant announced that our lodge dues for 2020 will remain at $125. Please remember to pay Marvin the dues soon. Please keep Brother Harry Williams in your prayers. His mother, Helen, is still in rehab for her hip which is a good thing. She is expected to be released probably the week of the 20th. Harry went to Birmingham on Wednesday to discuss some serious medical issues with a doctor and possible surgery. I have not yet heard the outcome of that visit. Harry could not attend our meeting on Monday as he was attending the funeral of an in-law family member.
Our next meeting will be on Monday, January 27th we do not have a meeting this Monday. I hope to see everyone on the 27th, and do not forget to mark your calendars for the meeting in Prattville on February 4th and the State meeting on June 20th. In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy your upcoming weekend.
